What is it?

PackTowl Personal Towels

What sets it apart?

For all the many activities that make you want to go outside, PackTowl offers a line of face, hand, body and beach towels that are ideal for outdoor recreation. Made with Polygiene odor control, which combats various microbes such as bacteria, fungus and mildew, these machine-washable towels resist the smelly stuff we often encounter in outdoor activities — fish slime, cut bait, perspiration, dried ocean water — to maintain freshness longer. Notably, Polygiene is based on silver salt (silver chloride). Made from recycled silver, this formula has a low environmental impact.

How do I use it?

Constructed with microfibers, which are smaller in diameter than strands of silk, each polyester/nylon towel soaks up four times its weight in water and wrings out easily. Drying approximately 70% faster than comparable cotton towels, the PackTowls take up less space and include a hang loop and zippered storage pouch for easy drying and packing. Available in eight colors, the PackTowls weigh 0.7 (face), 2.9 (hand), 6.4 (body) and 9.7 ounces (beach).

How much?

$12.95 to $44.95

Angler’s insight:

From fishy hands to drizzly mornings, to warm, sunny days of chilling by the creek or the ocean, towels of various sizes are a creature comfort you’ll be happy you remembered. Grabbing the “house” towels may sound like a convenient option, but they’re not the best for outdoor use. Lightweight towels that collapse into space-conscious forms better fit into backpacks, beach totes and tacklebags.
