What is it?

Costa Reefton Pro

What sets it apart?

Known for its color-enhancing, polarized sunglass lenses, Costa has bolstered several of its legacy frames with features designed to minimize the impact of sweat, reduce fogging and keep frames securely in place despite the surrounding conditions. Costa has added its popular Reefton frames to their PRO Series and included a larger lens size for increased field of view.

How do I use it?

The redesigned Reefton PRO includes wire drains to prevent sweat and external water from pooling inside the frame, sweat management channels to move this moisture away from the eyes and an improved Hydrolite grip on the nose and earpieces to keep frames in place. The adjustable and ventilated nose pads allow the user to customize their fit for reduced fogging, while metal keeper slots help prevent accidental loss. For maximum coverage, the Reefton PRO’s hooding and side shields block light intrusion.

How much?

$277

David’s insight:

Of all the natural elements that challenge anglers and impede their ability to focus on the task at hand, water may be the most notorious. From sweat beads to wave splash, a drop of water in the wrong place can compromise comfort and/or clarity. Costa’s PRO series includes a considerable amount of attention to this common vexation. Along with these upgrades, Costa includes environmental consideration with the use of its lightweight Bio-Resin, which reduces the carbon footprint of each frame while maintaining a durable, dependable construction.
