What To Fish For With Kristine Fischer
With so many freshwater fish to choose from, what should you try to catch? Tournament Angler Kristine Fischer talks about the different options.
Hey Everybody, my name is Christine Fisher with go out{side}.
Let’s talk about some of the most popular freshwater species to target when fishing. So First off, arguably the most popular sport fish in North America is the largemouth bass.
Largemouth bass can be found in the majority of our freshwater lakes, rivers and ponds across the country. Largemouth bass, along with spotted bass and small mouth bass, put up a heck of a fight and can be caught on a variety of different techniques.
Next up, the fish that most of us got started with– panfish.
So Panfish is a great way to get kids or beginners into fishing and fishing. Can be as simple as using a bobber and a nightcrawler. This consists of your bluegill, sunfish, crappie, perch and these make excellent table fare as well.
Next up, we’ve got another large game fish– catfish.
Catfish can be caught on a variety of live or dead bait and put up one heck of a fight.
If you live further North– Other popular species include walleye, northern Pike, and perch. Walleye and perch make some of the best table fare out there, so be sure to check your state’s regulations on limits, length restrictions, and appropriate seasons.
