Spooling A Baitcast Reel With Kristine Fischer
Learn how to put line on a bait casting setup.
Hey guys and gals,
Kristine Fischer here with Go Out{side}
and today we’re going to cover
everything about putting a line
on a baitcasting setup.
So First off, like with
the spinning setup I like.
Putting my line in buckets of water.
This helps keep the spool
upright, softens align a bit and
it just works really well for me.
So to start off here.
We’re going to take our line.
And I actually like.
To feed my line through
all of the guides.
Next up, you’re going to take
the line, go through the line guide.
Down to the bottom of the reel.
Back up out of the other side.
And then I’m gonna tie an Arbor
knot to secure that line.
But then you’re going to
cut the tag line and you’re ready to
start schooling.
So taking one hand
and applying a little bit
of tension on the line so it goes on it,
I wanna go ahead and start spooling up.
And you’re going to want to keep spooling
until that line is
about an eighth of an inch.
To go from the lip of the spool.
Well y’all, that covers spooling
up a baitcaster.
Make sure if you plan
on using a graded or a
super line, you’re going to
want to use either an inexpensive
monofilament or fluorocarbon
line as backing one to take
up a little bit more room for
more economically friendly way
into that will prevent that
superline from slipping
on your real hope.
You guys have a great
weekend in the outdoors.
