A Day Out{side} Exploring Canyonlands National Park
We took a Day Out{side} to visit Canyonlands National Park in southeast Utah. Our first stop was the Island in the Sky Visitor Center to pick up a map and junior ranger book for our son.
We headed into the park for some light hiking and amazing views. Located just outside of Moab, Canyonlands is one of Utah’s Mighty 5 National Parks, and its name is very appropriate!
From every vantage point is an expansive view of a seemingly endless landscape of canyons!
There is educational signage throughout the park providing information on the history of the area, both recent and ancient. One of our favorite things about Canyonlands National Park is that even if you only have one day to explore there are many quick pull-off views and most of the main attractions, including Mesa Arch, are just a short hike off the road.
There are, of course, longer hikes as well, but you can see a lot of beauty in a short amount of time. The overlooks are absolutely jaw-dropping!
