Thanksgiving Turkey on the Breeo

This is a great recipe when you want to do something a little different than a whole turkey for Thanksgiving or happen to be camping for the holiday. The combination of marinated grilled turkey and apples are paired perfectly together. This quick and easy recipe can be the centerpiece for your Thanksgiving dinner or enjoyed as a nice lunch the day before or after the holidays.

  • 4 boneless turkey breast steaks
  • 2 or 3 apples of your choice
  • ½ cup apple juice
  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
  • ¼ cup olive or canola oil
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons of dried rosemary or about a tablespoon of fresh rosemary, crushed and chopped
  • salt and fresh ground black pepper to taste

  1. In a medium bowl whisk apple juice, vinegar, oil and spices together.
  2. In two separate bowls or resealable plastic bags, place the turkey steaks in one and the apples in the other. Pour half of the marinade over both the turkey and the apples and let marinade for an hour or longer.
  3. When you’re almost ready to cook, heat the grill or build a fire with a grate or grill rack. Place the turkey breast on the grill and cook for about 10 minutes on each side while occasionally basting with the marinade.
  4. When the turkey is about halfway done, add apples to the grill and cook and baste with the apple marinade.
  5. When the turkey is cooked through and browned nicely with grill marks, and the apples start to soften with brown around the edges, remove and plate.

I like to plate the apples first then place the turkey on top and serve with a salad or sauteed spinach, but that part is up to you. Happy Thanksgiving and Go Out{side}!
