S’mores With Jimmy Kennedy
Getting creative around the campfire with s’mores has become a fun way to get the whole family involved in the gooey treat that we’ve all enjoyed for so many years.
I’ve heard of all kinds of variations on the original, including our chocolate and cheddar s’more idea. The only limit to all the crazy and creative s’more ideas is your imagination. For your next camping trip, backyard BBQ or just dessert after dinner, have the family brainstorm a few s’more ideas. They can be sweet, savory, a combination or all of the above. Some ideas use the traditional marshmallow-on-a-stick technique, and some will require more of a cook-in-a-pan or aluminum foil approach. There’s really no right or wrong way to make or cook s’mores. It’s a “whatever works and what your family comes up with” kind of deal. Have fun with it, get creative and enjoy!
Well, it’s dessert time
we got the kids over here doing some
roastin the marshmallows and try
not to burn him, but we’ll see.
And what we have.
None of these are really your basics.
More will start on this and this
is a Cabot cheese and chocolate.
And this is what color cheesecake.
Then we got the peanut butter and Jelly
we use with a whole wheat cracker
and marshmallow and
we got a mounds bar with some
honey and pineapple
that’s on a Graham cracker.
And this is what we call our fancy.
We have Brie cheese pear chocolate
on a Rosemary cracker flatbread cracker.
This is a chocolate chip cookies,
nutella, marshmallow.
This is great and this
is a Strawberry Shortcake.
We use fluff instead of
a marshmallow strawberries,
chocolate shortbread cookies.
And then of course we
had to do one savory.
Got rice cracker with
pepperoni, sliced tomatoes
and mozzarella cheese, and some of these.
You can just use the regular stick
a marshmallow on a stick kind of thing.
With all of these, but some
of these we have to wrap up
and that’s what we want to do
is like this one.
In particular, this
is the Cabot cheddar s’more.
We called it about probably
eight or nine years ago.
I was working on a recipe
I was trying to come up with the
soup garnish using toasted
marshmallow and cheese for
like a winter soup.
And I just want really coming up with
much of anything, and I
just kept thinking
Marshmallow and then s’mores.
And then this idea
hit to make this little mini cheesecake
looking thing here, and we have.
Probably when I was working for Cabot,
we probably demo’d.
250,000 in one year
and all these different
events and people.
They didn’t want to eat it at
first, but when they
did, they were like Oh my goodness, this
is so good and it is.
It’s like a little mini cheesecake so you
just wrap it up.
in the aluminum foil
like that.
We’ll get that one
ready and we’ll get one more ready.
We’ll show you guys.
Which one we’re going to do here?
Let’s do this.
Big one here.
Look at that and you can use honey.
You can use molasses.
Caramel would be really good too
and you don’t have to use pineapple.
Use whatever you all but
or any kind of candy bar for that matter.
We’ve done.
Reese is a lot Reese with Cheddar.
That’s all we need.
You just wanted to get
it a little bit warm.
Just put those on.
Hey guys.
It looks poofy, so we’re just going to
put these in anywhere
you don’t need a great.
You can just put him in here.
You could put him on
the rocks or anywhere
anywhere that works.
We’re just going to get these clothes
and melt them down a little bit.
You got all these products.
So this is a chocolate chip cookie with
nutella look at that.
Oh my goodness dude.
How is it?
Good.
Still roasting marshmallows.
I think we’ve eaten almost all of them.
Got one or two more to go, but basically
use your imagination.
Have the kids help.
Choose what they like whether
it’s nutella and marshmallow,
chocolate, or even the savory.
Like the pizza, ‘smore.
Just get creative
and have fun with it and let them
help you know it’s it’s fun to
get them involved at home
before you go camping.
Pick out some nice ingredients,
or even at the store
on the way to the campsite or wherever
you going fishing or.
hunting, whatever it might be,
and it’s just a.
It’s a lot of fun.
It’s a good way to end a meal too.
Camping or anywhere, even
if you’re at home, just go outside.
You know if you have
even a grill or Breeo or
whatever, any type of outdoor fireplace,
just roast, roast some marshmallows and
get some graham crackers and enjoy.
It’s fun and it’s tasty.
S’mores and More
While the s’mores creations are more ideas than recipes, here’s an oven version that will give you a good idea how to make the cheddar cheesecake s’more at home. If you’re outside and around the campfire, just use a little aluminum foil and warm the s’more up by the fire or even on a cast-iron pan or griddle.
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Place 8 graham cracker squares on a baking sheet. Top each one with a segment of chocolate followed by a slice of cheese.
- Top each one with another graham cracker square. Bake for about 4 minutes or just until the cheese and chocolate start to melt.
- Remove from oven and press down gently on each s’more.
- Serve warm or let cool to serve later at room temperature.
