Nuts And Bolts with Jimmy Kennedy
Hey, everybody. Jimmy Kennedy here with Go Outside and I got my favorite crew here today, Boris, my nephew, you’ve seen a lot of videos, French and she’s been in our videos to you, Frannie. Yeah. And Juni, of course, my sous chef.
We do a lot of fishing and we do a lot of shelling at the beach. Beastmaster Scheller, for sure. And we have a good article coming out on Albi and doing that show, right? Yeah. Anyway, we’re going to do some Christmas recipes and we’ve been doing a few of them.
But of all of the Christmas recipes of all the memories. This is my favorite and this is called nuts and bolts or Chex mix and mom made this by the five gallon buckets. I’m not exaggerating. She made this all the time from Thanksgiving to after New Year’s.
This was in the house and these big five gallon tins, and I remember they were like printed like, you know, Christmas themes and stuff. It was so much for my brothers and our friends. We packed this up. Take it hunting, fishing, camping, or just just give the friends a date to school.
It was a it was really good, and it brings back a ton of memories like a lot of our recipes do. And this one super easy takes a long time to cook in the oven, and it takes about an hour for this amount in up to three hours.
If you’re doing it like mom and these big disposable aluminum catering pans. She would cook it for like three or four hours at a time, but we’re not going to do that. We’re going to make a good sized batch is going to take about an hour and we’ll show you how it how it rolls.
So in here we have celery salt. We have chili powder. Celery saw adobo and just added some everything bagel seasoning. We’ve been using it, a lot of a lot of stuff. It’s really good and it smells good. It is really good on eggs, too.
So Frannie, do an adult this in here. Can you do that? You help you, not the bowl with just this stuff. Go ahead. Good job, sweetie. Junior put some Worcestershire sauce and Worcestershire sauce. Got to have that all right for anyone is stirring that up, so we got butter.
We have six tablespoons of butter melted and then we just melted, still warm. Fran is a really good cook. We made a lot of cookies last night, didn’t we? A lot. Good. Good. Yeah. How many cookies didn’t we make out?
About 50. That’s pretty close, man. You got it all done up journey. You want to put this in the big bow and this is Cheerios. Got up cereals, wheat, chex, rice, Chex, corn, chex, peanuts or mixed nuts mixed nuts about it.
But we only add peanuts. We ate all mixed nuts, but pretzels? Yes, a lot of Chex, but you can use it. There’s recipes in the whole box boxes. This this is two cups of each of those. Let’s put that.
Sounds good, doesn’t it? It’s my hand. See that all of that goodness is in there. All right. 19 Add this to this. Yeah, you got to see. All right. Yeah, let me show. We just go there. Lawrence, I want you to stir this up, so what are we going to do is just try to get the butter and the spices, the code, everything. So just keep stirring and stirring and looking good. Sometimes I’d like to ask the evening after, too. I like it kind of spicy, but we could add in things like We like it really spices cayenne pepper in their black pepper, white pepper.
Yummy. And this. Hey, yo, but good job. All right. Last thing, I could make it in these casserole dishes, you can do the aluminum disposable or anything, but this works pretty well. And when you’re cooking, it’s when it’s in the oven.
You want to start about every 15 minutes. That look good. Yeah. Of course it is. I think it looks good. You want to smooth it out for me, Fran, let me get a couple more out of there. That’s all it is to an end.
It’s just the banking crisis and the smoothies for me. Just kind of get everything in level. I’m pretty good. There you go. Thank you, Heidi. That looks good now I’m going to put this in the oven at 250 for, like I said, about an hour and going to start every 15 minutes and we’ll get that done.
All right. Thanks. All right. I’m going to put this in now about an hour. Yeah. Thank you. Looking good? What do you want, rebuttal? Well, that’s all it is. Folks took about an hour, hour and 15 minutes stuff, so getting a great flavor may have been great for hiking.
Take this on the beach. Take it for the low key, sure, and make this recipe and be on the website. Thank you all. Merry Christmas. Happy New Year!
