Halloween Lollipops
Oreos are probably my family’s favorite store-bought cookie. They even make special Halloween Oreos these days. Adding melted chocolate to what is already a crowd favorite puts this treat in a whole new category. Plus, you and your family get to decorate them however you want with icing, sprinkles or other goodies.
These are super easy to make anywhere you can melt a little chocolate, and they will quickly become a holiday favorite. For Halloween, I like to dye them orange (pumpkin) or leave them white (ghost), but there’s no limit to all the different scenarios for Halloween or any holiday.
Hey, everybody. Jimmy and June Kennedy here again. And we have a pretty cool little Halloween recipe today. Oreo. Oreo. We love those. So we got some white chocolate, some coconut oil, little sticks. Right off the plum tree, orange food coloring. I figured we’d make them look like pumpkins, but we don’t have green icing and so… I don’t know.
Put some red on there or something. All right. We’ll get to it. First thing we want to do is melt the white chocolate. Got the slow burner here. You do this over stove in the house. You can do it over a campfire, go for it – or anywhere you got a little flame. Go ahead. Put the coconut oil in too. Use a spoon for that.
Maybe you got most of them. So we’re just going to let this melt and then we’re going to add the food coloring and you can add any coloring you want.
One second. You can always use white chocolate because you get the color and that’s the fun part. So June’s just going to put a couple of drops of orange food coloring in there.
It’s going to be done.
It looks like we’re trying to burn it a little bit, but I think it’ll come around. Go ahead and stir it up real well.
Yeah looks like the bottom is going to be a little burned. But that’s fine, it doesn’t have to be perfect.
It’ll get orange. Just keep stirring. So are texture and our color was a little off, so we just added it. Yeah, it’s looking good. And then we add a little bit of milk to it. So looking much better now. Working on the fly. Looking good now. All right, so we had to add a little milk to our chocolate and food coloring.
It looks much better. I like to open it up. So we got Oreo. Twist it off. Of course. Just take the stick, June-y bug, and just kind of mash it right into the filling and it will stick. Look at that. Put the top back on like this. mash it down pretty good. So we got an Oreo lollipop.
Now, like using sticks and skewers and all that stuff. And these are right off our plum tree and just mashed in like that.
Having lunch with.
You. All right.
Let’s see how strong this will be.
And you can color these up. This thing is still small, but it’s a beautiful orange color. I mean, it’s looking good.
Upside down.
Dunk one in and see what we got. Just twirl it around.
Ooh, that’s what that looks like. Actually saw that.
This is a messy endeavor, but it’s a yummy one. Okay, so we got our Oreos dipped, had a little snack, and tried one out. They’re super tasty and super easy to make. I mean, sometimes they kind of get loose in there with the stick and all, but it’s going to have to make them. You can decorate them.
I did that with these Oreos.
With no orange frosting, use any color you want. Have fun with it. These things are super yummy, super fun to make and very Halloween. We need some green ice and to make some pumpkins though. You can do them white. You even have to like to dye them you can just leave them white and put all kinds of scary decorations on them.
Like a ghost.
Do whatever you want right?
That’s it, folks. Have fun on Halloween. Be safe. Eat a lot of candy. See you next time. Take care.
Ingredients
- 6 Oreos, (Halloween, Double Stuf or your favorite flavor)
- 6 lollipop sticks or skewers
- 1 cup white chocolate
- 1 teaspoon coconut oil
- Orange food coloring
- Green icing
- Parchment paper or baking sheet
Directions
- Remove one side of the Oreo cookie and press a lollipop stick or skewer into the filling. Place the cookie back on top and gently press and twist to help hold the stick in place. Place the parchment paper or baking sheet on a plate.
- In a small to medium saucepan, add the white chocolate and coconut oil and very gently melt them together. A double boiler works well for this too but is not really necessary. Add the food coloring and stir until you have an even color that you’re happy with.
- When the chocolate and coconut oil are melted and the right color, dip and twirl the Oreos into the chocolate to fully coat each one. Let the excess chocolate drip back into the saucepan and then place your Oreo lollipop on the parchment or baking sheet to cool. If it’s warm out, you can put them in the refrigerator or cooler for a few minutes.
- After they’ve cooled you can decorate them with the icing for a spooky and very yummy treat.
This is a treat that the whole family will love and is great for any special dessert occasion!
