Catch and Cook Trout with Jimmy Kennedy
Jimmy Kennedy and the group went ice fishing in search of trout. He shares his simple way of cooking. “Of all the outdoor cooking we do, this is probably, to me, the easiest way to catch and cook fish. You just take the fish, you clean it, put it in aluminum foil, put anything in there you want salt, pepper, onions, tomatoes, parsley, a little bit of lemon.” Jimmy explains. Follow along as he shares his “catch and cook” recipe for trout.

Hey, Jimmy Kennedy with go outside. On another Vermont pond trying to catch a fish out here today. We’ve caught about six or seven pickerel and one trout. The boys want to eat this thing, so that’s what we’re going to do. And of all the outdoor cooking we do, this is probably, to me, the easiest way to catch and cook fish You just take the fish, you clean it, put it in aluminum foil, put anything in there you want salt, pepper, onions, tomatoes, parsley, a little bit of lemon.
00:00:51:12 – 00:01:18:18
That’s what we’re going to do today and let it cook, stick it right on the coals. Super easy. And it’s so, so tasty. We got our aluminum foil. And what I’m going to do is just kind of put a little bit of onion and tomatoes on either side like that. I want this fish to lay flat, maybe a little bit of lemon You always got to have some lemon or this little lemon on the inside.
00:01:20:03 – 00:01:48:28
A more onion these tomatoes cook down and they give you a lot of flavor as well as a little bit of broth almost. We just this parsley is freezing up quick This is good flavor. It looks good, too. We want to wrap it pretty tight. I can like pull it up and then fold it over and same with the end.
00:01:48:58 – 00:01:52:33
Just when I want it to steam in there, it’s in tight.
00:01:57:37 – 00:02:06:05
And that’s all it is to it. We’re just going to put that directly in the coals. Let it cook. It’s only going to take like ten or 15 minutes. It we’ll be ready to eat. All right.
00:02:16:15 – 00:02:36:07
Right. Let’s check this thing. It’s been in here long enough. The 15 minutes, maybe 20 Oh, baby, look at that. Oh, wow. Yeah, look at that. What is that? This is what I was talking about with the tomatoes. They kind of make, like, a little broth almost with the fish. This looking good, man.
00:02:39:50 – 00:02:56:34
That, my friend, is a done fish. By the way, it’s pretty good. Awesome. I’ll get some more forks and we’ll eat this thing right
