Born and raised in Weeping Water, NE, Kristine Fischer wasn’t one to adhere to societal norms. Growing up in a home unimpeded by the restraints of a tv, she had a natural inclination towards the outdoors.
For the past few years, she’s lived on the road competing in national kayak bass tournaments across the country.
Her tournament records have proven that Kristine is a force to be reckoned with. She Boasts 3 national level wins and a 2nd in the 2019 season, and added another big win and several top tens in 2020. One of these wins secured her a spot on the USA team where she not only will be 1 of 7 anglers to represent her country, but the first female in the world to ever qualify for this prestigious event.
She will continue to compete at a high level in hopes of shattering the negative stigmas associated with female anglers. While national kayak tournaments have been her focus, the goal of qualifying for the Elites has lingered in the back of her mind.
Most would say that fishing is her passion, but what really drives her is redefining the boundaries and pushing her own perceived limitations. She is an advocate for living in the moment and trusting in your passions of life, and hopes to continue to inspire others to “get outdoors”. She is also the co-founder of WWFF, a nonprofit dedicated to teaching women how to kayak fish on their own.
