John Deshauteurs

Fishing has always been an obsession for John. As a young boy his favorite thing to do on a Friday night was to stay glued to the Outdoor Channel. He couldn’t wait to tune in and watch the pros demonstrate fishing techniques while showing the latest and greatest in gear and just loving life on the water. 
That sparked a fire in him and he knew that there had to be a place for him in the professional fishing industry. It’s been a long journey, but he’s humbled and happy to say that he did it – professional kayak angling is his full-time job now. With the support of his mentors, friends, and his family, that dream has become a reality. 
It all started with a dream, he enjoys giving back, applying what he learned from watching the pros and teaching others in a similar fashion.
John started documenting his kayak fishing trips in December 2012. He was initially promoting products for small local retailers which over time grew into sponsorships from leading companies.
John loves meeting new people who share his love of the sport and the outdoors, and he is excited to share his knowledge and pass on everything he’s learned along the way.
