Jimmy Kennedy’s passion for cooking and the outdoors began at a very young age. Unknowingly, cooking, fishing, hunting, and gardening with family formed a farm to table lifestyle that became ingrained in Jimmy’s mindset, not only in his cooking, but also in his lifestyle and career. These early influences taught him many important lessons which he managed to create, maintain and build upon throughout his journey from Mississippi to Vermont .

Kennedy will be participating in the legendary B. A.S.S. Opens and FLW Series in 2021 as a professional angler. At many of the tournament locales, he teams with various companies and organizations, such as Bass Pro and Publix, to lead cooking and/ or fishing demos. Also, Kennedy and his daughter, June, host their own cooking show focusing on bringing viewers into the heart of the home – the kitchen.

With slight adjustments to their original technique, see how Jimmy Kennedy spends a successful day with friends catching perch.

These tasty little snacks use toothpicks and are probably the most versatile yet, […]

An all-time family favorite is even better made over an open fire. This recipe is made even easier if you cook the pasta ahead of time and pack it in the cooler, but it’s not really necessary. You can cut the recipe in half for four or five big servings, or just make it all […]

Johnny cakes go by many names — hoecakes, johnnycakes, Shawnee cakes, journey cakes, cornpones, batter cakes and corn cakes. They are, very simply, a cornmeal pancake, and the name variations are based on what region of the country you happen to be in when cooking and talking about these tasty, historically interesting and versatile “cakes.” […]

Vermont has lots of small farms that produce terrific strawberries each year, as do many states across the country, and we are always looking for ways to use them.
